hello & handshake has been received by the Indianapolis community with such warmth and excitement! From our first pop-up shop at Tomorrow Bookstore back in August to our Golden Hour pop-up shop to vending alongside incredible shops and literary brands at PROOF: A Midwest Lit Fest on October 9, we have met so many wonderful people with a passion for beautiful, functional stationery and office supplies. In addition to meeting and getting to know our customers, we know how tactile shopping for paper, pens, and office supplies needs to be — you may have even heard us say “Touch it! Test it!” at one of our pop-up shops!

And we want to make it even easier to shop hello & handshake this holiday season.

With the support and partnership of Tomorrow Bookstore, Golden Hour Books, & Kids Ink. Children’s Bookstore, you will be able to shop hello & handshake online and pick up your purchases in-person at your select neighborhood bookshop downtown, in Butler-Tarkington, or in Meridian-Kessler/SoBro!

Why not just ship it to us you ask…

The answer to this is two-fold: 1) We would much rather you spend $15 on a new book at a local retailer than on a bubble mailer and 2) Who in the world wants to spend their weekends at the Post Office?! Not us! So, here’s how shopping online with hello & handshake is going to work this holiday season (starting November 1):

  • shop online: visit www.helloandhandshake.com/shop and shop!

  • choose pickup location: during checkout, select from our three pickup locations (details of each below).

  • pick up your purchase: purchases made by midnight every Friday will be ready for pickup the following Tuesday at your selected location

  • voila!: you get your hello & handshake goodies AND another good reason to visit a locally-owned bookstore
